Notice of socialiting papers: The Third Conference on Contracts and Governance in the Digital Economy

The digital economy is a strategic choice to grasp the new round of scientific and technological revolution and new opportunities of industrial reform. Building a digital China and improving the level of digital governance are new engines for achieving Chinese path to modernization. The seminar on "Contracts and Governance in the Digital Economy" aims to conduct thematic discussions on hot topics and cutting-edge issues related to the digital economy and corporate, industrial, regional, and spatial governance in the context of high-quality development empowered by the digital economy. It aims to help modernize the national governance system and governance capabilities, and provide new ideas for promoting high-quality development of enterprises and continuously strengthening, optimizing, and expanding China's digital economy. The third conference on "Contract and Governance in the Digital Economy", sponsored by East China University of Technology and co hosted by the Business School of East China University of Technology and the Oliver Hart Contract and Governance Research Center of East China University of Technology, is planned to be held on September 7, 2023 at the Business School of East China University of Technology. This conference will continue to discuss and research governance issues of significant practical significance in China, in order to make marginal contributions to the high-quality development of Chinese enterprises and the healthy development of the digital economy.

 

To this end, we are currently soliciting papers from scholars in the fields of digital economy governance and corporate governance at home and abroad, which are in line with Chinese characteristics, have solid theories, rigorous logic, and thorough analysis. The conference team will select the papers to be applied for, select high-quality papers from the submitted papers for presentation, and organize participating experts and scholars to comment. The specific matters are notified as follows:

The conference team will determine the agenda for subsequent meetings based on the selected papers and formally notify the selected authors of the papers. There will be no conference fees charged for this conference. Please bear the travel expenses of the attendees. The working meals during the conference will be provided by the organizer.

 

 

About us

Oliver Hart Research Center of Contracts and the Governance was jointly established in east China university of science and technology on September 22, 2019, with Oliver Hart, a professor at Harvard, 2016 co-recipient of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, and with the economic scholars in Shanghai Jiaotong University Fudan University and East China Normal University. Oliver Hart, an honorary professor of East China University of Science and Technology, is the director of the research center.

The research center consists of a number of full-time and part-time researchers. The purpose of the Research Center is to study the major economic practices initiated in China or with typical Chinese characteristics and of universal significance in the world, as well as the cases that have been successfully practiced abroad and have great application value in China. The research scope of the center includes contract theory, organizational economics, legal economics, digital economy and industrial (organizational, chain, spatial) governance, public services and social governance, environmental governance, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG), territorial space governance, regional space governance, cyberspace governance, as well as experimental and empirical research related to the above research.
