On the afternoon of September 6th, Professor Oliver Hart, co-recipient of the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, professor at Harvard University, honorary professor at East China University of Technology, and director of the Oliver Hart Research Center for Contract and Governance Research, was invited to participate in a meeting at the research center of East China University of Technology. He discussed with the center members, learned and guided the development of the center.

       Professor Oliver Hart was awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Economics for his contributions to the study of incomplete contract theory. His research findings and analytical framework have been widely applied worldwide. During the meeting, the full-time research fellows of the center gave a brief self introduction to Professor Hart, the director, and reported on their main research directions and recent research projects. Professor Hart is satisfied with the development of the center and expresses his willingness to actively participate in various academic activities organized by the center. In the subsequent discussion, Professor Hart pointed out some problems in the current research of contract theory and had a heated discussion with the center members. At the same time, he also expressed unique insights and valuable opinions on some of the confusion in the members' own research. Finally, Professor Hart proposed his expectations and vision for the development of the center, hoping that with the joint efforts of the center members, the Oliver Hart Research Center  of Contracts and Governance at East China University of Technology can become an internationally influential academic exchange platform.

Professor Wu Yuming, Executive Director of the Research Center, Associate Professor Jiang Shicheng, Deputy Director, Professor Li Youping, Dean of the Department of Economics, and Professor Qin Xiangdong from Shanghai Jiao Tong University attended the conference. After the meeting, Professor Hart took a photo with the center members and had dinner together.
