On the morning of July 8, 2025, Tian Wen, Chairman of Shanghai Maiyue Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., and his delegation visited the Hart Center for in-depth exchanges on carbon monitoring technology research and development, collaborative innovation between industry, academia, and research, and cooperation in ESG (environmental, social, and governance) fields. Wu Yuming, Executive Director of the Hart Center, Director of the Urban and Regional Analysis Laboratory at the School of Business, Professor of Economics at the School of Business, and Master's student Yuan Xuejiao warmly received and participated in the discussion.
Professor Wu Yuming warmly welcomed the arrival of Chairman Tian Li and his delegation, and introduced the disciplinary advantages of East China University of Science and Technology and the School of Business. He pointed out that the business school integrates business and technology, innovatively constructs the "Business+Engineering+Science+Technology" (iBEST) training model, and has one postdoctoral mobile station, three first level discipline doctoral and master's programs, and a 5+1 professional master's degree training system. As one of the two Nobel Prize level international cooperation platforms at East China University of Science and Technology, the Hart Center focuses on incomplete contract theory and ESG (environmental, social, governance) research. It has jointly developed the ECUST- Wind Chemical Industry, new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing equipment, software and information technology ESG index, and is striving to build a collaborative innovation platform for industry university research in ESG and sustainable development.
Chairman Tian Wen highly recognizes the academic accumulation of Hart Center in the field of green and low-carbon, and provides a detailed introduction to the core business and technological advantages of Maiyue Environmental Technology. As a leading enterprise in the research and development of carbon monitoring equipment in China, Maiyue Environment has been deeply involved in the field of environmental testing for many years. Its independently developed AI biological incubators, portable carbon concentration analyzers, and other equipment have achieved technological breakthroughs in scenarios such as plant carbon sequestration lifecycle monitoring and real-time detection of industrial waste gas emissions. They have been applied to well-known enterprises such as Yunnan Tobacco and Jiangsu Electric Power, as well as multiple university laboratories. Chairman Tian Wen proposed to cooperate in three aspects: first, jointly develop an integrated platform of "carbon monitoring+smart management" for parks or enterprises, integrating Maiyue's technology products with ECUST's ESG research results; The second is to jointly establish a talent training base for carbon accounting and ESG innovation practice, combining practical cases of enterprises with theoretical resources from universities to cultivate composite low-carbon talents; The third is to jointly apply for national low-carbon technology demonstration projects and promote the industrialization of scientific research achievements in the Yangtze River Delta region.
Professor Wu Yuming affirmed Chairman Tian Wen's proposal for cooperation. He pointed out that the advantages of both sides in the research and development of carbon monitoring technology and ESG practice are highly complementary, and the cooperation is not only in line with the national "dual carbon" strategy, but also can solve practical pain points for enterprises. By organizing ESG research, conference forums, industry seminars, and other activities, starting from specific projects, we aim to promote the application demonstration and cooperation exchange of enterprise technological achievements, steadily advancing cooperation towards deep collaborative innovation development.
This exchange has built a solid cooperation bridge for both parties. In the future, Hart Center and Maiyue Environment will focus on technological collaboration and market demand, and carry out comprehensive cooperation in low-carbon technology research and development, talent cultivation, and policy implementation, jointly contributing to the development of China's green and low-carbon industry.
